WE'RE VISIBLE!

October 17, 2016

Where are you located? ... Oh, I didn't know there was building there..

We have heard it all. While we've had a small sign mounted on our building for some time; driving down our one way street, we were nothing more then a blur. Tucked neatly behind the Berlin Post Office, our modest building
desperately needed to stand out.

And thanks to a marketing grant we have finally purchased the sign we've always wanted (and needed)!

The Faces of TCT
Interview with
Bob Rice,
LDM Volunteer Driver

QHow long have you been volunteering with us?
A.  5 Years

Q.  What has made you stay?
A.  The people, both the people at Tri-County Transit and the people you get to meet with the clients, they’re just beautiful! They all have neat stories. I once had a passenger (WWII veteran) who had 3 destroyers blow up beneath him and another who was a cook at camp Parmachenee Maine (Brown Company Parmachenee Club) and she served President Eisenhower.

Q.  Favorite snack on the road?
A.  Granola bar

Q.  If you could have a t-shirt or bumper sticker printed with a message, what would it be?
A. Not to sound sappy but it’s true “Thank you for letting me be your driver!”  Every person has a story and they’re just fantastic!

Q.  Favorite fast food restaurant?
A.  Wendy’s

Q.  Do you have an amusing or joyous story from volunteering?
A.  Once I had a passenger who lived on a back road in Stratford Hollow and she told me she was the first house after the stoplight. I thought she was batty; to have a stoplight out there. Come to find out the river had washed out a bridge and they had put up a stoplight! 5 miles out on a country road and I’m like “ok”!
